Dear Colleagues,   On behalf of the Gastroenterological Association of Thailand and the local organizing committee of the APDW 2012, we are pleased to invite you to attend the APDW 2012 which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand during 5 – 8 December 2012.   Thailand is renowned for amazing and breathtaking tourist attractions, authentic Thai foods, worthwhile shopping, hospitality and smiles. Thailand is a hub for many international airlines making it a unique location easily accessible worldwide with modern international airport. December is a winter month in Thailand so the weather is mild around 75°F- 85°F (24°C-30°C) and comfortable. Moreover, during the month, major roads in Bangkok are luminous and decorated with colourful ?owers to celebrate His Majesty the King’s birthday anniversary which falls on 5-8 December.   It is our honour and privilege to host a prestigious event as APDW which devotes to all aspects of digestive diseases that affect the population of all nations. We are planning a high quality of scienti?c programs with participation of authorities worldwide as well as experts in the Asia Paci?c regions. This conference will be a forum for dissemination and discussion of the cutting-edge breakthroughs in gastroenterology and hepatology among delegates from all over the globe. In addition, we welcome the young researchers to present the most recent developments in gastroenterology and hepatology. The theme of the conference is “Achieving Excellence in Gastroenterology and Hepatology”.  We do hope that the knowledge and experience exchanged resulting from the APDW 2012 will inspire us to attain future advanced development and strong global collaboration in the ?eld of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.   We are looking forward to wholeheartedly welcoming you to the venue of APDW 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand’s charming capital city with rich historical and cultural wealth for this unique scienti?c, social and cultural event in December 2012.
