The Brazilian Society of Biomechanics (BSB) and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) are candidates to host the 24th ISB Congress in 2013. This conference has been hosted by various countries in different regions of the world and is the most important opportunity to join the international community of Biomechanics for scientific exchange and personal contacts in an attractive atmosphere that combines scientific and social programs.   The ISB conferences also contribute to the evolution of Biomechanics in countries and regions where they are held and where Biomechanics is not yet as well established as in some of the research centers of developed countries.
